Finding, Developing and Retaining the Next Generation of Leaders
David Rossiter
Head of Human Resources
Hospital Authority

The Hong Kong Hospital Authority is the primary provider of healthcare services for the people of Hong Kong and, through its team of 57,000 it delivers "world class" healthcare services. As the workforce ages and the expectations of the community strengthen, the Hospital Authority has identified the need to develop the next generation of leaders with different skills and mindsets to many of the current leaders. In this HR Summit presentation, David will share with the the journey of leadership development in the HA starts with ensuring the "right people" are developed and then tailoring programs for groups and individuals that will help them grow and keep them motivated and learning until the next role and then the one after that comes up.

David Rossiter joined the Hospital Authority in 2002. His career started in the retail industry in a range of different roles from generalist Human Resources (HR) Management to Specialist Industrial Relations and a number of senior business leadership roles in Australia's largest retailer. From there, he spent 2 years in HR in Public Health Care. The following six years, he worked with what was at the time, Australia's largest private health provider leading the HR team for a group of some 60 hospitals and numerous private pathology and diagnostic imaging practices during a period of rapid expansion through organic and acquisition growth.
